Work on Tropico 3 is well underway. This sequel to the award-winning banana republic strategy game is good news to fans of the game. The good news is even better: Tropico 3 is being modeled after the original game, not the abysmal sequel, Tropico 2. The franchise appears to be in good hands: Haemimont Games is a solid development house based in Bulgaria. Previous titles released by them include Glory of the Roman Empire, Celtic Kings, Grand Ages: Rome, and Imperium Romanum.
Details about the game are difficult to come by. There is a discussion about Tropico 3 going on in the developer's forums, but it focuses primarily on the wishes of long-time fans airing their wish list for fixes/updates to the old game (additional of sea planes, taxies, road building, etc). Check back with The Wargamer as we will continue to watch for updates on the game.
